Is an electric bathroom scrubber worth buying?

Identify the surface
Establish the bath, tray, tap finish and grout materials. A stiff head or heavy pressure may be unsuitable. Check the surface manufacturer's permitted care method and the compatibility of the intended cleaner.
The UK BLACK+DECKER S500 manual ↗ is one example of model-specific instructions. It does not establish identical waterproofing or permitted uses for all powered brushes.
Assess handling, not the attachment count
If a demonstration is available, hold the product in its working position. Compare weight, head angle, handle reach and the effort of holding it. A long handle can improve access but may be awkward in a small bathroom.
Ask which heads are included, whether replacements are sold separately and their price. A large kit has little value if the soft brush you actually need wears out and cannot be replaced in the UK.
Water, charging and maintenance
Read the exact restrictions on water exposure, immersion and cleaning. A photograph of a product in a bathroom is not a waterproofing specification. The charger and working unit may have different requirements.
Check operating time, battery arrangements, storage and drying of attachments. For regular use, assess the complete cycle, including rinsing and recharging. Do not use damaged components or modify electrical parts.
Decide whether it saves useful effort
Compare the price with an appropriate ordinary brush and the time spent on your specific task. If scale is the underlying problem, first choose a compatible removal method: a powered head does not make an unsuitable chemical appropriate.
Review the guarantee and used-product return position before paying. Begin on a permitted small area after purchase, without increasing pressure simply to obtain a quicker result. Assess handling and inspect the surface after drying.
A useful purchase reduces an awkward movement and has obtainable consumables. Rotation speed or photographs of an immaculate bathroom do not, by themselves, establish suitability for your finish.
