Choosing a London brunch and understanding booking formats

Brunch may mean a late breakfast, a separate weekend menu or a drinks package. Bottomless usually has a time limit and specified drinks rather than unrestricted access to the entire bar. Check non-alcoholic options and whether everyone must choose the same package.
For conversation, consider noise, queues and table duration. Families may need highchairs, pushchair space and suitable food. Before a train, reliable booking and realistic service time matter.
Check that menu's hours
Dishoom ↗, checked on 7 October 2026, lists breakfast ending at 11:45. Duck & Waffle ↗ publishes weekend brunch from 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. These illustrate why arriving at noon does not always secure breakfast choices.
VQ describes a longer brunch format ↗, but confirm the selected branch's opening and dine-in hours. Do not apply one location's schedule to an entire chain or a holiday.
Compare the complete bill
Add the dish, coffee, juice, extra sides and service charge. On the checked date, Duck & Waffle's menu lists English Breakfast at £19.50 with a separately stated discretionary service charge. This is one restaurant's example rather than a London average.
For packages, establish duration, eligible drinks, required food and supplements. Ask whether the clock starts at the booking time or actual arrival. Groups should check deposits and reductions in party size.
Book around your guests' needs
Establish whether the venue uses reservations, queues or both. Check permitted lateness and table limits. For allergies, discuss sauces, bread and sides as well as the main dish; V and VG do not answer every allergen question.
For conversation, ask about music and seating. Avoid choosing an unsuitable entertainment package solely for its price. Keep the confirmation and cancellation terms. Recheck the current menu before visiting, particularly if a specific dish or an old advertised price prompted the booking.
