Establish the cause of swelling

New, one-sided, painful or rapidly increasing swelling needs clinical assessment. Do not assume every swollen area means blocked lymph. Breathlessness, chest pain or other acute symptoms need urgent help.

After surgery, agree massage with the surgeon, including technique and timing. A cosmetic practitioner should not replace the postoperative plan independently. Disclose heart and kidney conditions, clots, infection and medicines.

Separate the services

Ask how progress is measured and how long changes may last. Fluid changes or temporary appearance differences are not equivalent to sustained fat loss. Pain and bruises should not automatically be described as evidence of effective drainage.

Cost and plan

Compare duration, area, manual versus device treatment, any required garment, consultation and repeats. Obtain course and cancellation terms. Stop and seek medical advice if symptoms worsen. Avoid substantial prepayment before understanding the cause and treatment compatibility.
