A service holding its own stock differs from a platform with individual lenders in availability, delivery and dispute handling. HURR explains renting ↗, By Rotation lists lender offers ↗, and Girl Meets Dress describes its service and showroom ↗.
For a fitting, confirm the address, appointment and specific garment. The option to try one piece does not mean an entire online catalogue is available in one room. Check the current conditions before booking.
Dates matter
Give the event date and establish which days count towards the rental period. Allow for delivery and fitting, then timely return dispatch. A minimum period can make the headline daily price substantially lower than the actual bill.
Ask what happens with late delivery or a poor fit. Do not assume a full refund is automatic; the service, notification deadline and circumstances matter. For an important occasion, prepare an alternative outfit.
Understand the full price
Compare hire, service fees, transport both ways, cleaning and damage protection. Ask what protection excludes, including stains, tears or loss. A card guarantee and a collected deposit are different arrangements.
Establish whether washing, ironing or adjustments are allowed. Agree any action with the lender first. Do not shorten the garment or attach adhesive to delicate fabric without permission.
Inspect and return carefully
Photograph existing defects when opening the parcel and report them through the official channel before wearing. Check fastenings, accessories and size, following instructions about tags.
Repack correctly after the event, use the assigned address and keep dispatch evidence. Confirm whether timely return means posting or arrival. For overseas events, consider delayed baggage; the rental ends on the agreed date rather than whenever your flight gets home.
