Travelling with children: fewer stops and more time
Build a day around breaks, access and the whole family's pace.
Choose the main activity
Start with one attraction or theme that suits the children's ages and interests. Check age conditions, ticket categories and booking rules directly.
Plan the journey
Consider buggy access, station lifts, changes and the walk to the entrance. A slightly slower direct route can be easier than several interchanges.
Make room for breaks
Schedule food, toilets and unstructured time. Keep water, weather layers and necessary personal items accessible. Avoid relying on a long queue or a late meal as the only option.
Keep a shorter day
Choose a nearby alternative for rain or tiredness. Leave enough time to return without rushing, and explain meeting arrangements appropriate to the children's ages.
Before paying
Check family-ticket conditions, cancellation and what facilities are available. A discounted headline price does not show the complete family cost.
