Start with your postcode and regular basket

Enter your postcode first: available products, slots and delivery costs depend on the address. Compare the same weekly basket including delivery charges and any minimum order. An introductory discount does not show the cost of regular shopping.

Distinguish supermarket delivery, click and collect and urgent delivery through another platform. Prices, products, fees and return conditions may differ. A retailer's own delivery subscription does not necessarily cover orders from that retailer through an intermediary app.

Set substitution preferences

A substitution replaces an unavailable product. For essential items, disable substitutions or specify an acceptable alternative where the system allows it. With an allergy, do not rely on a picker choosing safely; another product's ingredients need checking again.

Waitrose publishes its substitution and pricing rules ↗. Do not assume every chain follows them. Establish how price differences are handled and whether you can reject a substitute on arrival. Check the packaging, quantity and ingredients before accepting a questionable item.

Note the amendment deadline

Orders can generally be changed only until the displayed cut-off. Check the confirmation afterwards: saving a shopping list and confirming an amended order may be separate actions. Verify the date particularly carefully after moving a delivery slot.

Choose a time when an adult can receive the order and provide clear access instructions. The Waitrose help page ↗ explains delay tracking and returns to the driver. Do not assume chilled food will be left unattended without confirmed arrangements.

When the order arrives

Check bag numbers, damage, substitutions and date labels. Put chilled and frozen food into appropriate storage promptly. Photograph damaged products, keep order details and report problems through the retailer's official channel.

For regular delivery, compare a subscription against your actual number of orders and automatic-renewal conditions. Check restrictions on days, addresses and minimum spending. Choose according to total monthly cost and workable slots rather than free delivery wording alone.
