Look for stock rather than a bespoke order

For a cake today, start with ready-made stock at a nearby bakery or supermarket. Give the guest count, latest collection time and acceptable flavours. Complex designs, edible photographs and exact reference copies reduce the available options.

Prepare two alternatives: a whole cake and a selection of desserts or cupcakes. A card may replace personalised wording more easily than delaying the purchase. Check candles and packaging separately.

Understand same-day wording

Allergens and storage
