List designer, model, original labelled size and alterations. The finished measurements may differ substantially from the label. Give garment measurements, length and significant construction changes rather than promising fit from the previous wearer's height alone.
Photograph the whole dress, fabric, fastening, train, lining and damage. Inspect hem, stains and missing embellishments in good light. Publish personal wedding photographs only with appropriate rights and consent from identifiable people.
Choose venue and price
A specialist audience may help buyers find a model without guaranteeing a deadline. Stillwhite explains its listing route ↗. Compare specialist selling, local consignment and general marketplaces for audience and fitting practicality.
Research comparable models and condition. Original retail price does not determine second-hand value. List included veil, cover or belt explicitly; an accessory appearing in a photograph is not automatically included.
Include every expense
Read Stillwhite's current fees ↗. New listings should not rely on old “one-off fee only” descriptions: listing and success-fee terms apply, with possible separate payment processing. Confirm region and payout calculation before proceeding.
Include cleaning, suitable packaging, shipping protection and possible international delivery. Do not automatically commission expensive restoration; assess its likely effect on net proceeds. If cleaned already, describe timing and condition after storage.
Fitting and handover
Agree location, accompaniment, visitor numbers and careful handling for fittings. Avoid publishing a home address openly. Establish payment and handover timing; a transfer screenshot is not received money.
For dispatch, check box dimensions and carrier value protection. Keep description, correspondence, packing photographs and receipt. Accurate alteration and condition information reduces disputes better than promising universal fit.
