Reselling or transferring concert tickets safely

Open the order in the original ticketing account. Find the organiser's restrictions on resale, transfers, named entry, identification and transaction deadlines. Do not advertise a ticket until you know how its new holder will enter the venue. A PDF, screenshot and mobile wallet ticket may be subject to different arrangements.
Use the official resale process
For example, Ticketmaster ↗ requires you to open the order in My Tickets and check for a Sell button. Resale is not enabled for every event or ticket category. Review the permitted price, fees, listing deadline and any restrictions on tickets previously bought through resale.
When a sale succeeds, the service reissues the ticket to the buyer. Complete your seller profile and payout details before listing; identity checks may be required. Payment timing ↗ depends on the order and event. Do not rely on an immediate payout to meet an urgent financial commitment.
Transfer a ticket to someone you know
With Ticket Transfer ↗, the sender selects eligible tickets and enters the recipient's email address or phone number. Check their account email in advance. Once accepted, the recipient receives a new barcode and the original ticket becomes invalid. Sent means an invitation has been issued; check that the status changes to Accepted or Claimed.
Parking, VIP extras and other services require their own eligibility checks. Ticketmaster ticket insurance does not transfer with the ticket. Moving a ticket between accounts does not itself settle payment between individuals or provide escrow protection.
Keep evidence and avoid common mistakes
Retain the ticket description, restrictions, agreed price and transaction confirmation. For another provider, follow its own instructions rather than Ticketmaster's sequence. If a button is unavailable, ask support: a seller's promise that it will appear later does not establish eligibility.
Do not publish the barcode or order number. As a buyer, receiving a valid ticket through an authorised process is safer than relying on an image and somebody else's identity document. Establish the cancellation refund arrangements beforehand, particularly where the initial refund goes to the original purchaser.
