Читать на русскомUK junior English camps: what your package actually includes
A child needs suitable teaching, a clear routine and adults responsible at each stage of the day. Parents need a transparent package: teaching hours, accommodation, airport handover and remaining costs. An impressive campus alone does not answer these questions.
Checked on 5 October 2026. Summer 2026 has passed; those prices illustrate package differences. Published 2027 programmes do not confirm availability. See our main schools guide ↗.
Three accommodation models
| Format | Questions to settle |
|---|---|
| Residential campus | Room occupancy, bathrooms, overnight staff, off-site freedom and phone rules |
| Homestay | Other students, meals, adult checks, bus routes and independent travel |
| Day programme | Drop-off, collection, opening hours, lunches, weekends and responsibility outside the programme |
Homestay may suit a teenager comfortable with public transport. A compact residential campus may fit a younger child's first independent trip. Choose for the individual child, rather than treating either format as universally better.

What supervision means in practice
A 24-hour emergency telephone is not continuous adult accompaniment. Ask how supervision works in lessons, breaks, excursions, free time, commuting and overnight. Establish permission for independent outings, return times and the response to a missing or late child.
Lewis explains its homestay journey ↗: hosts show the route on the first morning; thereafter students normally travel without their host. Staff help them board the correct bus, and students message their host and go directly home. This can be appropriate independence for one teenager and too much responsibility for another.
Airport arrangements need an unbroken handover: named representative, terminal, contact number, waiting location, delayed-flight plan and return handover to the airline. Airline unaccompanied-minor services and school transfers are separate services.
Bucksmore's 2026 terms ↗ tie included transfers to designated days and flights between 09:00 and 19:00, with details due seven working days ahead. Medical forms are due 30 days ahead; students must be able to self-administer medication. Discuss support before paying.
Accreditation belongs to a provider and provision
A university or boarding-school name may identify rented premises. It does not establish who operates the course or who teaches it.
The British Council lists adult Wimbledon and Wimbledon Young Learners ↗ separately, as it does St Giles Juniors UK ↗. WSE's 2023 junior report covers Lord Wandsworth and Wimbledon; it does not establish inspection of every new campus.
Read the report's date and follow-up evidence. LSI Brighton's 2026 report ↗ rates safeguarding as meeting the section standard overall, while identifying individual shortcomings in staff references and on-site supervision risk assessment. These are dated inspection findings; ask about remedial action before recommending a placement. Do not turn an individual finding into an unsupported judgement about an entire chain.
Payment, cancellation and insurance
Compare like-for-like quotes: exact nights, 60-minute teaching hours, excursions, transport, admission tickets, meals, return transfers and insurance. Establish the deposit, balance deadline and separate consequences of visa refusal and visa delay.
For example, Bucksmore's 2026 terms retain 25%, 50% or 100% according to cancellation timing; documented visa refusal allows a refund less £100, while delay leads to a postponement offer. These are not industry-wide rules.
Read any included insurance policy for pre-existing conditions, sports, excesses, treatment, repatriation and cancellation. Agree medication storage and administration, and emergency medical consent. See our booking guide ↗ and accommodation guide ↗.
Entry requirements for children
GOV.UK permits English study of up to six months with an accredited provider under the Visitor route ↗. Visa/ETA requirements depend on nationality and status. An unaccompanied child needs parental/guardian written consent and contact details, plus evidence of suitable accommodation and care. Longer care by someone who is not a close relative can trigger private-fostering requirements; Scotland and Northern Ireland have different rules. Check the official under-18 guidance ↗, airline policy and departure-country requirements.
To discuss options, send the child's age, level, independence, dates, medical/dietary needs and complete budget to Tell Me on Instagram ↗ or Telegram ↗.
