How to find in-person Russian-language therapy in London

Читать на русскомDefine a short request
Specify that you need in-person sessions in Russian, a convenient London area, the patient's age and a broad description of the concern. Do not publish a detailed medical history in a search post.
Language and qualifications are separate criteria. Fluent Russian does not establish expertise for your concern, and a prestigious degree does not guarantee the format you need.
Where to search
The UKCP directory ↗ includes In-Person, location and Russian-language filters. Start the BACP directory ↗ with a postcode and clarify requirements in profiles or at first contact.
Check current registration with the relevant organisation, or the HCPC ↗ for a clinical or counselling psychologist. Match the full name and professional area. Appearing in a directory does not mean appointments are currently available.
Before booking
Ask whether the whole process can take place in Russian, the consulting-room location, accessibility and experience with your concern. Clarify price, session length, cancellation and whether a brief introductory conversation is available.
Ask for a plain explanation of the approach and experience with migration or cultural context if relevant. Children, couples and individual adults require suitable training; one profile does not establish every specialism.
NHS access, cost and the first meeting
In England, you can also approach NHS Talking Therapies ↗. Ask about language support and in-person care, but a Russian-speaking therapist is not guaranteed. NHS and private booking arrangements differ.
At the first meeting, discuss goals, confidentiality, records and contact between sessions. Avoid a large non-refundable package before understanding the terms. If the practitioner is unsuitable, discuss changing and transferring necessary information. A crisis needs urgent support rather than waiting for regular therapy to begin.
