The British Guild of Tourist Guides directory ↗ allows Russian and London filters, followed by profile and regional-qualification checks. It provides a professional search route rather than guaranteed availability.
Community recommendations can also help, but verify the actual guide, programme and arrangements directly. Someone's earlier recommendation does not establish today's price or expertise in your museum topic.
Format and language
Confirm the whole tour's language and who leads it. Private walks, shared groups, vehicle overviews and museum visits offer different pacing. Explain children's ages and older guests' walking comfort or break needs.
For the British Museum, choose a topic rather than attempting everything. A few connected sections can be clearer than a rushed room list. Ask about alternatives if a gallery closes or access changes.
Tickets and museum rules
Read the British Museum's entry and group conditions ↗. Hiring a guide does not remove security, group rules or separately ticketed exhibitions. Establish entrance and reservation requirements beforehand.
Ask whether admission, headsets, transport and extras are included. “Museum tour” alone does not define the package. An audio programme in another language is not equivalent to live Russian-language guiding.
Price and booking
Request the total per group or person, maximum size, duration and extension cost. Confirm start, finish, deposit and cancellation. Vehicle tours need separate clarity about driver, parking and traffic restrictions.
Keep the written itinerary and guide contact. If another language such as Ukrainian is preferred, filter accordingly and confirm directly. Relevant expertise and clear organisation matter more than a promise to show all London in a few hours.
